The Bead Interest Group (B.I.G.) is a special interest group of Alabama Chapter, EGA, and was formed by members interested in "beading" in general and "bead-weaving" in particular.  Projects have included jewelry-making, bead-weaving using a wide variety of  methods and stitches, beading on canvas (beedlepoint), and the creation of dimensional objects. The beads themselves range from the tiny Japanese Delicas to large cabochons, faceted crystals, and specialty beads. Although the majority of meetings focus on the sharing of ideas and the helpful guidance of the more experienced beaders, there are occasional (and optional) group-projects led by members.

Last year Beaded Nutcracker  ornaments were created for the Guild's Christmas tree at the main branch of the Huntsville Public Library.  B.I.G. has also provided EGA programs for those who wish to explore this area of needle arts.  B.I.G. meets in the homes of members on the second Tuesday morning of each month, and any EGA member is welcome to attend. Hostesses rotate on a voluntary basis and those wishing to continue beading through lunchtime may bring a sack-lunch and drink.
