There are many opportunities for EGA members to take advantage of Special Events offered on the national, region, and local levels. Check out the information below to find out about some of these events. They are always educational (the mission of EGA), fun, and inspirational about new and different techniques, fibers, ideas, designs, etc. Put these dates on your calendar and plan to join your fellow EGA members there!

EGA National Seminar
Every year, EGA holds a national seminar where a member can attend classes, take tours, meet the teachers, shop at Merchandise Night or the Boutique, and spend a few days with like-minded stitchers from around the world. This year (2010) the seminar, "Stitching on the Barbary Coast", will be held in San Francisco -- September 5-10, right in the heart of great shops, entertainment venues, and art and history museums. There will be dozens of classes with nationally-aclaimed teachers and designers. Check out the national website, www.egausa.org, for more information and the seminar brochure on line to see the classes and tours being offered. April 30 is the deadline for "first day" registrations, but if you miss that date, check with the seminar to see if the class you want is still available. Several members of the Alabama Chapter will be attending so there will be familiar faces stitchin' in San Francisco. Come join us!!!

TVR Share-A-Stitch
The Tennessee Valley Region (TVR) of EGA holds Share-a-Stitch every year in the summer. This year, SAS XXX will be held in Charleston, WV, June 24-27. They have lots of fun things planned as well as 12-13 classes, including Studio Time, a banquet, a Merchandise Night, a boutique, a bookstore, and much, much more. This is the 30th SAS and so far we have two TVR members (one from the Alabama Chapter) who have attended all of them. Plan to join the members of Alabama Chapter traveling to Charleston for this great stitching time! Our chapter often has the most attendees, so you can see that we really look forward to SAS. Come with us and become a part of our large contingent.
Next year, 2011, we'll be in Birmingham, AL on a June weekend for SAS XXXI. Come see what new and different things the girls from Nashville have planned for us. You won't regret it.
In 2012, there will be SAS XXXII. It will be held at the Meadow View Conference Center in Kingsport, TN which is a great facility. We have been there twice in the past few years and we always love every minute. If you don't want to take a new class, come take Studio Time and work on one or more of those UFOs lurking in your stitching room!
