JANUARY 26th
Annual Dinner Meeting -- Bring a covered dish, salad, or dessert and catch up with all of your stitching friends at our annual combined meeting. Our speaker will be our own Pat Kyser talking about her world of quilting. This will be a delightful chance to hear about all that she has accomplished. We'll have the usual drawing for prizes. Bring those just-finished stitched items for your chance to win something special. We'll also install the new officers. This is a combined meeting with both the morning and evening stitchers getting together. Time for the dinner will be 6:30 PM.
FEBRUARY 23th
Hardanger Bookmark -- Claudia Newton will be teaching this project in basic Hardanger with no cutting. This is a great piece to learn how to stitch Hardanger if you have not worked on it before or get a few refresher tips. It can be worked in many beautiful colors with a died fiber or with basic Perle Cotton and will be a wonderful addition to your stitching treasures. Plan to be there!
MARCH 23th
Beaded Marking Pins - The March project will be beaded counting pins, used to mark centers or other reference points for counted embroidery or canvas work, or to count pleats for smocking. A kit to make four pins may be purchased for $3.00. Or you may contact the Webmaster for a supply list. In addition to the project, the meeting time will be used to discuss future programming needs and preferences. You may also bring your Hardanger bookmarks if you need help.
MARCH 30th
FIFTH TUESDAY - We will gather at St.Mark's to help Ardith put together the name tags our chapter is making for Share-A-Stitch this summer.
APRIL 27th
Open Stitching - This will be the first of two meetings scheduled for open stitching this year, but we will try something new. Helpers will be available to answer questions and help with problems on one or two specific projects or techniques, to be determined after your input at the March meeting. The subject(s) will be announced in the April newsletter, so be sure to check and see if help will be available for one of your unfinished projects.
MAY 25th
Gloria McKinnon -- Gloria will be visiting us from Australia and bringing lots of ideas in silk ribbon embroidery and other techniques. She will talk at our monthly meeting and is offering a 2-day workshop as well. Gloria has been here before and is always a great teacher and has lots of wonderful ideas. More info later. Don't miss it!
JUNE 22nd
Myrna Griffiths will be leading a program for Hardanger beginners, and it is also recommended as a refresher course for those who haven’t stitched the technique recently or who may have questions. There will be a small kit available with large count fabric and appropriate threads, as well as some printed materials. You may bring books or instruction sets from Myrna, Janice Love, Marion Scoular, or other teachers; also bring any other Hardanger books you may have, along with projects you are working on or need help with. Finished projects will also be welcome, to serve as inspiration for everyone. Myrna will have more details at the May meeting, and more information will be printed in the June newsletter.
JULY 27th
It's Potpourri time again. We'll be working on this year's Christmas ornaments for the library tree. We'll make bead icicles and lace stars. This is the yearly program where the chapter provides ornament supplies at no charge and the members do the stitching. When the ornaments are finished, they are "loaned" to the chapter to decorate the Christmas tree at the Huntsville Public Library in December. Please come join us for a little Christmas stitching and finishing. We'll give you some ideas about finishing the ornaments and other things.
AUGUST 25th

JANUARY 2011
We will embark on a year-long review of basic embroidery stitches. The January dinner meeting will be a presentation of the whole idea by Pat Kyser. Ten to fifteen minutes of each meeting the rest of the year will be devoted to a new stitch, in addition to the regularly scheduled programs.
To whet your appetite, start checking A Million Little Stitches blog from time to time to see what exciting things can be done with basic embroidery stitches.
